This article is part 7 of 8 in a series written by Turing Motor Company’s CEO: Ned Goodhue. This series outlines the Turing Motors approach to bringing level 5 autonomous vehicles to market.

Our first market is municipalities

  • One sale could mean 2,500 vehicles.
  • Our break-even number is selling 10,000 Minibuses.
  • We will have 3 years to get to that goal.

Family Cars is our second market

  • Our break-even number is selling 10,000 Family Cars.
  • We will have 3 years to get to that goal.

Our Test Track is our Key to Sales.

Our Test Track will have cameras showing what is happening at the test track 24/7. Well-known people will come to the Test Track, they will have a car to drive, and they will have a great experience that they tell the world.

The PR will be strong and convincing.

Early Validation of our Technology

Our cars will drive 9 million miles in the first 12 months. It will be a validation that our cars can, indeed, drive at full speed. And everyone will have seen it.

Our Assembly Plant will not be as expensive as other assembly plants.

The Italian way uses no robots. We will follow kaizen. Simple car design. High use of 3D printing.

Next time

In the next article of the series, we will discuss our approach to Safety.
